The Fire Safety Handbook, Resource Packages, fillable and printable forms, graphics, text, layout and related materials are protected by copyright and other applicable intellectual-property laws. Copyright ownership is not transferred when a Product is purchased.
Individual Handbook and Complete Package licence
Unless a different written licence accompanies an order, an individual Handbook or Complete Package purchase provides a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to one named user.
The named user may:
- Use the Handbook or Complete Package internally across the properties or restaurant locations that they personally manage or are professionally responsible for.
- Store reasonable working copies on secure devices or systems controlled by the licensed user.
- Print reasonable reference pages and included forms for internal operational use at the locations they manage.
- Complete, customize and maintain records in included forms, provided copyright and licence notices are not removed from master materials.
The licence does not permit the named user to forward or provide digital master files to other staff members. A person who needs their own ongoing access should have their own individual licence or be covered by an applicable team or business licence.
Standalone Resource Package licence
A standalone Resource Package purchase is licensed for internal use at one building or restaurant location. Reasonable copies of forms may be printed, completed and maintained for that licensed location. Use at additional locations requires a separate licence or written permission.
Team and business licences
A team or business licence covers the number of named users stated in the applicable order or written licence. Each licensed named user may use the Handbook or Complete Package internally across the locations that person manages or is professionally responsible for. Digital access must remain limited to licensed users.
Uses requiring separate permission or licensing
- Providing digital Product or master files to unlicensed staff, clients, contractors, affiliates or unrelated organizations.
- Using a standalone Resource Package at more than one location.
- Posting or distributing a Product through a public or unrestricted website, drive, learning platform, marketplace or file-sharing service.
- Reselling, sublicensing, renting, publishing, translating, adapting or commercially reproducing all or a substantial portion of a Product.
- Using a Product as the principal content of paid training, consulting or a competing publication or resource package without written permission.
Limited excerpts
Small excerpts may be quoted for commentary, review or internal reference where permitted by law, provided the excerpt is accurate, proportionate and accompanied by appropriate attribution. This does not authorize reproduction of complete pages, forms, chapters or substantial portions of a Product.
