The everyday challenge

Complex responsibilities deserve one clear working reference.

Building teams coordinate fire protection systems, inspections, service providers, emergency procedures and records. The handbook brings those responsibilities together in a professional, practical format.

Technical systems

Fire alarm, sprinkler, standpipe, emergency lighting, fire doors, elevators and other building systems each have different functions.

Inspections and records

Routine checks, maintenance coordination, impairment records and required documentation need to stay organized and current.

Emergency decisions

When an alarm, impairment or emergency occurs, staff need clear guidance, established procedures and the confidence to act promptly.

Created by a professional firefighter with two decades of frontline experience and practical experience preparing fire safety plans for residential buildings.

Transparent building scope

The handbook is designed primarily for residential apartment buildings up to 12 storeys. Its core guidance remains useful for many taller buildings, but buildings over 12 storeys may include additional fire and life-safety systems or features that are not fully covered, such as emergency voice communication, more complex elevator features and smoke-control or pressurization systems.

Purchase questions

Everything you need to know before purchase.

Still need help? Contact info@firesafetyhandbook.com.

What is the difference between the three purchase options?

The Handbook PDF includes the complete 27-chapter handbook. The Resource Package includes separate printable and fillable editions with checklists, logs and building information tools. The Complete Bundle includes both products at the best overall value.

Is the Resource Package sold by itself?

Yes. The standalone Resource Package is sold with a one-building licence. It is also available as part of the Complete Bundle.

How do the 10-user and 25-user licences work?

The Team Licence provides access for up to 10 named users at a fixed introductory rate. The Business Licence provides access for up to 25 named users at a fixed introductory rate. Prices vary by product and currency.

Can one licensed user use the handbook at more than one building?

An individual Handbook or Complete Bundle licence allows one named user to use the material internally across the properties they are responsible for. The standalone Resource Package is licensed for one building. Digital files may not be forwarded, publicly posted, resold or shared with unlicensed users.

Can the Resource Package forms be printed?

Yes. A standalone Resource Package purchaser may print the forms for internal use at the licensed building. When the forms are included in a Complete Bundle, use follows the applicable individual, team or business licence terms.

What device works best for the fillable Resource Package?

For best results, use Adobe Acrobat Reader on a computer or tablet. Phone use is supported for viewing and occasional entries, but larger inspection logs may require zooming. On an iPhone, double-tap a fillable field to place the cursor and open the keyboard.

Does this replace a building's Fire Safety Plan?

No. The handbook is an educational and operational resource. It does not replace an approved Fire Safety Plan, required inspections or testing, professional service, local procedures, or directions from the authority having jurisdiction.

Is the handbook specific to one province or state?

No. It is written to be broadly useful across North American residential building operations. Local codes, standards, required frequencies and authority requirements must always be followed.

Bring a clearer fire safety standard to every building you manage.

Choose the Handbook, Resource Package or Complete Bundle. Team and business licences make it easy to provide consistent access across your organization.
